How do we develop a strategic school list? We do research on your child’s high school, so we have an understanding of where students have traditionally done well in the college admissions process. We make sure that the college list is both aspirational and achievable with early choices that provide for some pre-January admissions.
Schools with similar features and reputations are actually different from each other. We show students how to identify the qualities that matter most to them and find programs, faculty members, research opportunities, and clubs that interest them.
Spot-On Essay And Activity List Guidance
Is there a way to make your student sound unique when so many candidates have similar profiles? For the period of time that we work together, we think of your kids as “our kids.” Our practice is small on purpose. Kids come to know us and trust us with their stories.
As we get to know your child, we encourage them to talk about the school projects, teachers, and club experiences that have moved them most and to explain why. They then research campuses with us and learn to express how the school’s culture and their favorite experiences match up.
Other than the essays, the activity list is the most important tool applicants have to distinguish themselves in admissions offices. On the surface, the list seems like a friendly way for students to record what they do outside the classroom.
